I have been trying to figure out how to reset my router for a few days now. It's a belkin 4-port dsl router. Here's the problem:

Nothing on the manufacturer website tells me how to reset the login/password combo for the setup program (the webpage on the router at IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx ). I have tried the reset button (duh) and I have tried to use every password I can think of that the system would default to.

Any thoughts?

Hi Captain_Chemo, welcome to Cyber Tech Help.

I assume your in the administration 192.168.2.1:88 with your browser.

Had you forgotten your password?
Is this a new router you purchased?

Do you have a manual for this router? Most of these personal sized routers are resetable to factory defaults with the reset switch - it's described in the manual as being made for that very reason(the reset switch) but you're supposed to hold it in for some number of seconds.

I checked the manual, but still no love. The reset button is supposed to do what I need, but it doesn't. Sometimes I hate technology.:(
