Hi everybody.

I have Norton Internet Security 2006 installed and there is a problem viewing websites.
For example this website:

http://www.tommys-service-enterprise.gmxhome.de/index.htm

The site wont show only if I disable Norton Internet Security 2006.
If I only disable the Firewall wont help, so I don't know what rule to enter.
Please help me out to configure Norton so that websites of these kind will show properly.
The link to the website above is in fact my own website and I recon that it is about the Java Script background, but I also have the feature "Allow Java Script" enab;led in the Firewall.
So I don't know what to do about it.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Tommy

Welcome to CTH Tommy. Your site tried to load a popup. Is it an Advertisement? If so, try disabling Ad Blocker and Popup Blocker and see if that helps. See here (http://service1.symantec.com/support/nip.nsf/pfdocs/2004093010421136) for instructions.

Hi Anne Marie.

Thank you very much for your reply.
I got it fixed, thanks to you. :happy:
The problem was the "PopUp Blocker".
"Ad Blocking" was already turned off, but not the "PopUp Blocker".
Funny that I did not see this myself.
Anyway, everything is fine now. :cool:
Thanks again very much.

Kind regards,
Tommy

P.S. How do I change the "Female" sign next to my username to a "Male" sign?

That's good news Tommy and you are very welcome. :)

The sign you can see is just a generic indicator to show whether or not the person is online. Red if they are, grey if they are not. Check out some of the other threads. Everyone has the same indicator.

Welcome to CTH tommy!!!!!

I also got a popup when i went to that site (It was a beautifull site)

The popup was blocked by my "AUTO POPUP FILTER" and all i saw was the # 0 change to 1 by my garbage can :)

Glad ya got things working :)

Peace

EDIT:

I just checked my garbage can and got the URL of the blocked ad (http://service.gmx.net/de/cgi/hpad) all it is,is a banner in another language :D

I can't do anything about this popup, because the site is hostet on a free server, but I thought that is better than most free webspace as there is no advertising at all except the the popup and this pops only at the 1st page.
It is an embeded script and I can't get rid of it even though I tried.

<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
window.open('http://www.gmx.net/cgi/hpad','ptARiypjFNN8U','width=488,height=50');
</SCRIPT>

???-------<<< ANY IDEAS ABOUT GETTING RID OF THIS SCRIPT >>>-------???

Usualy an average popup blocker takes care of that like the one included in Google Toolbar for example or XP (I don't like this XP one).
Only the popup blocker in Internet Security 2006 seems to be to strong.
Anyway, I'm glad you liked the website.
All the best.
