network problems

Hi have windows 98se and i can't get my network to work. When i open it it says this network is not accessible. So what am i doing wrong can u help me

Have you got a firewall running? If so, make sure it's configured to allow file sharing.

Also, right click Network Neighborhood, left click Properties, is "File and Printer Sharing" enabled?

You also have to map the network...right click on Network Neighborhood, left click "Map network."

Finally, you need to mark a file, folder or entire drive as shared by right clicking on whatever you want to share, left click on Sharing, check the appropriate boxes.

NO FIREWALL ON THIS COMPUTER. I tryed what u said and still don't work.Do i have to go in the control panel for anything?
