Hi, Just wondering if it's true that Sygate is no longer free? You may have posted this somewhere else but I can't seem to find it.
If this is true, suggestions for another good free firewall? Zone alarm? (I have WIN98SE)
Thanks!
Ellen

Howdy:
Not just no longer free, but no longer even available..
They were bought out by Norton (Symantec) and Norton has ceased any updates or even downloads for the program !!

You can still get it at Old Version (http://www.oldversion.com).
It's listed under the "Security" heading on the lower left. There are five versions to choose from.
I prefer Sygate so I've downloaded them all and burned them to CD.

Would appear you can get the original program there but that is all you get.. No updates or fixes available for it!!

True, there is no more support for Sygate's free firewall. On the other hand, I always view updates with suspicion, especially for firewalls. I guess I prefer a firewall to be just a firewall and stay out of the spam filtering, spyware blocking, and assorted other "security features" field.
I figure that doing those things with separate programs will at least identify the culprit if something goes wrong. ;)
