pop up blocker

What is a safe one that I can use? I am so dingy I posted a message earlier and now I can't even find it.I have windows 98 and installed the yahoo toolbar(suppose to block all pop ups ,yell right) and it totally wiped my resources out, I had to shut down and reboot all day long when I was on the net and using yahoo messenger I uninstalled(the yahoo toolbar) and my resourse level is fine now? I have AVG as my virus source. But am not sure of a good pop up blocker? I Am afraid to just do a download off the net. Thanks for your help.

You could try the Google toolbar. It has a blocker with it. I've never used it. I mostly use the Firefox or Opera browsers, they have popup blockers built in.

Try this little thing to see how well your popup stopper really works.
Mine busted everything except a floater.
Popup Killer and Tracks Eraser. I use it free. PM for more info.
