Error has suddenly appeared

I recently got a tutorial cd for some music software and it ran fine yesterday but now when I insert the CD the following error message appears.

"unable to open file "D:\Rsr\IocRsrc\MTPrsrc.dir" becuase it is already open with write permission by another user"

The software runs straight off the cd and I am the only user on my laptop. The software it uses is macromedia projector if that's any help. Any ideas on how to solve this please? thanks.

It always helps to tell us what program we are dealing with rather than letting us fly blind.

Hi thanks for the welcome. The programe is Cool School Interactive (CSI) tutorial for Ableton Live version 5. I don't think it's the programe though but more something to do with my laptop as it doesn't work with my laptop but does on my desktop. I need it for my laptop because that is where Ableton Live is installed. I'm thinking of just reinstalling windows as I have problems networking my pc too but I hope I can avoid doing that.

Assuming you are running Windows XP on the laptop, try setting up another user account, log in with that and try it.

If the alternative user account doesn't work try deleting the "Preferences.cfg" file. Another one will be created when you use the program again.
