Welcome
![]() You do not need webhosting or a domain name to create webpages. If you want to create static HTML pages then you can do it with Notepad or a HTML editor and view them from your computer with Internet Explorer, Firefox etc. If you want to create dynamic pages then you can install a webserver package then will run on your PC. You can also install scripting language support and databases. (e.g PHP & mySQL). You could then run scripts like this forum. Once you have your pages or site then you need others to view them. The easiest way is to pay for hosting. Welcome ![]() Your other option is to open your webserver to the public. 3 major problems here 1) ISP may not allow it and may ban you 2) PC has to be online all the time 3) Unless you run Linux or Windows 2003 then you will be very limited to the number of people who have access your site simultaneously.

4) If you know nothing just now i'd advise against making your own webserver until you can write xhtml in your sleep

Search engines don't ignore free websites. Infact when cyber tech help wasn't still on its own domain name you could look for it doing a search on google.com
Understanding search engines is a bit tricky. They look for several things mainly. Age, Age of the web page belive it or not plays a huge factor. The longer the website stays active the higher in the chain of relation to its content it is.Content, Content is a huge factor. Google use to use metatags/last lines of a webpage to consider the priority factors for each content. Google now uses link sharing content. Which means the more webpages listed with same content linking to your webpage the higher priority you gain. Results, The results of a search are marked say for example you search for apple. And you click on the third link, This result will tell google.com that most people found the third link most useful when searching for apple. After so many repeated unique searches and results google will increase the priority factor for the webpage. There is other things out there that google also pays attention to but this is to get you started. At every moment of every day google has Web crawlers (programs designed to search through webpages gathering data) searching through registered websites within its database to check for updates and changes... Activity, The more a webpage updates its content the higher priority it gains on google. If your webpage changes daily it gains a higher prority on googles database.ALL THESE quirks google looks for just add a tiny smudge to priority... In a sense google looks for the highest traffic rated webpages to set them at top of the web listing. Theres many many many other 'quirks' google looks for but I'll leave alot of them to discover on your own... As I once told Miz "If i told you all my secrets , what would you have left to learn" Most proffesional Web analysis use these and many more tricks of the trade while building web structures for companys. Google changes its stratgey along with other search engines every so often to try to keep people on thier toes. Google wants quality material first not material that people whom knew how to get it there gets it there. Companys want the material at top of each list. Google added priority advertisement for some companys that did not wish to play the game with search engines anymore. These are sponsored links for example type> aol at google.com first two links will be aol. The first link was paid for by Aol the secound was placed because of prioritys. Hope this information helps ya... Remember best way to get noticed is submit your website to all search engines you can. |
