i have a 2.8 ghz processor, geforce mx4000 video card with 2 sticks of 512 ram a 200 gb hardrive and a 80 gb hardrive with lots of space left on both. i was moving files around and deleteing stuff and i must have deleted or moved something improtant because now when i try to play songs on media player it uses 95% of my memory. plus overall i would say the general performance of my computer has definatly decreased. I have tryed to fix it a few diffrent ways but nothing seems to have worked. Does any one have any clue what this problem could be???? any ideas at all anyone?????

yup the problem is you deleted likely something important ....
not thinking it is your graphic drivers cause it wouldn't effect it too badly to run software emulation with those system specs...
you can't really delete your swap file and if you do i belive windows just replaces it...
to fix.... hmmm ya ... hmm ya.... ya using windows xp by chance? could save ya a headach if ya are....

Try uninstalling and then reinstalling WMP.
Could also try another media player. WinAmp is good.

I would install JetAudio player and lose all associations with Microsoft. This is a great player and should eliminate Microsoft bogging down your PC as all their apps do.
jetaudio.com (it's free and way better than winamp or WMP). I run multi monitors and about 30 apps a day at work with Jetaudio running all day and see absolutely no disruption in my performance.

I would probably just avoid using WMP to be on the safe side.
