Outlook Express dead...??

Fantastic site! Great work!
My problem (besides computer iliteracy) is with my outlook express 6. For some reason it just stopped working. It will load up but doesn't search for incoming mail. I've sent myself an e-mail to try it but nothing. I tried the Internet Explorer self repair to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks.

Have you checked your account settings?

Open OE then go to:

TOOLS | ACCOUNTS

You should see your ISP email account there, highlight it and then hit the "Properties Button".

Now you will have several TABS, go through each one, the important one is:

SERVERS here is where the settings tell your computer where to get mail from, example:

My incoming mail server is POP3

Incoming mail (Pop3): pop3.xxx.xxx

Outgoin mail (SMPT): smpt.xxx.xxx

Where xxx would be your ISP

Does everthing look OK in there??????

Do you mean it won't attempt to retrieve mail even if you click Tools>Send and Receive>Receive All or it won't attempt to retrieve mail when you first open it?

Are you getting any errors messages? If so, what exactly do they say?

Are you running a firewall? Are you running an antivirus program that scans email as it comes in?
