Have searched and cannot come up with the answer to this one. Just upgraded to a new computer and gateway suggested I use intellimover to transfer all my files to the new computer. I have one question however.
Does the intellimover actually MOVE all the data files, or does it have the option of only doing a COPY? I would like to retain some of the files on the the old computer as I plan it use it still.

"Unlike massive digital U-Haulers such as Aloha Bob, IntelliMover doesn't move actual applications or the entire contents of a hard drive; instead, it transfers the settings of 47 applications". So, you'll first have to install those apps on your new PC. A lot of what it configures are parts of Windows, too. So no, it won't delete anything off your old machine.

What is it you'd like to transfer? And also, does your old 'puter have a CD burner attached?

Thanks so much for your help. Yes, I have installed the programs on the new computer, and yes, my old one has a cdrw drive. I was just afraid to do the "transfer" for fear all the data files would be moved off the old computer. Once again, thanks.

If you don't mind, post back and let us know how the transfer goes.

I've used Aloha Bob's PC Relocater, Norton's Ghost (to ghost an entire image), and of couse transfering things via burned CD's. But I've never used IntelliMover, and am interested in limitations/successes. :)
