Maesteg is a big parish, known locally as the 7777 parish. The rugby clubhouse is called the four 7's etc.
Caerau, whilst pretending to be a seperate village, is in the parish.
Think of Halifax, but without such nice burned out cars.
Rougher than number one sandpaper.

Croes Erw is considered rough by people in Caerau

ps, think Bateman senior and junior both turn out for the 7777's on occasion, sr playing the odd game for Bridgend Blue Bulls.
