Hello my friend,

Go into INTERNET OPTIONS/SECURITY/CUSTOM LEVEL

And change RUN ACTIVE X CONTROLS AND PLUGINS to ALLOW (OR 'PROMPT' If you dont feel safe just letting them blindly run) then you should be able to do this......

Good luck :)

Only does it on certain pages or prevents you from connecting. What are you using for your Home Page? Did this just start?

You could try restoring your registry from before it started, then just to make sure run a full viral scan...........

Boot up,press F8 until you see a menu,then select 5 (Command prompt)

@ the C prompt, enter "Scanreg/restore" .. When you get the list of saved registrys, pick the date from before this started (May help you) (Hopefully it was withing the last week,as there isnt too many saved registrys on 98)

Good luck :)

never mind the registry mechanic question. tell me if this is ok. i went to security and highlighted trusted sites and added my yahoo and then under that enabled the RUN ACTIVE X CONTROLS AND PLUGINS. i dont get the message anymore however on my tool bar at the top the buttons back, refresh and stop are grayed out even after restarting/refreshing. is that a different issue?
