I don't want to make this thread controversial but, there's this big hit of a movie that was made showing American soldiers as the bad guys. For some reason the government is banning it from the U.S.
Thing is, I think they should just show it and let the general public of America make up our own minds. Anyone agree?

You've got to be kidding? Show a movie that makes us look bad? I would like to see it for myself too and then make a decision for myself. I fully support the people serving, but not all of them are perfect. Would be interesting to see what it's all about.

Make what decision for yourself...whether or not the troops are bad guys? Sounds like you've got your mind made up already. I believe this (http://service.spiegel.de/cache/international/0,1518,401565,00.html) is the movie Vercades is talking about, and if it really is banned, I think you'll see why.

If you're referring to the Turkish movie, Valley of the Wolves (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valley_of_the_Wolves_Iraq), I can't find anything about it being banned anywhere. I did find a number of sites talking about how Cinemax, one of Germany's largest video chains withdrew the film in Germany.

I may be Canadian but I agree, don't worry I'm not being held at gun point. :D
Somebody on a CBC Report said that the U.S. troops should just back off from those country's & let them work it out themself.
Why bother things won't change in those cases until the 4 horse men.
Why waste time staying there, why not focus on U.S. if your a U.S. Troop.

Thanks for the link, I heard about that movie a couple of weeks ago but forgot about it. I don't think its banned - is it? I think its more that the powers to be decided not to distribute it here in the states for commercial and political reasons.

They show movies to make money. From what I read in the review I doubt that many would bother to go see it. It's more of a propaganda film that anything else. The Germans turned out many of them during world war II.
