You could always buy a police scanner, they're pretty cheap these days. For some reason, emergency services don't encrypt their transmissions.

Why should you own a police scanner? The answer is simple: personal safety, community involvement, and excitement.
The Excitement of Police & Fire Radio.
Just yesterday I found a scan out of Iowa/Nebraska (online scanner):
"Black male, 180lbs, 6', license suspended out of Nebraska."
I guess I'm sadistic for I like to watch other people get in trouble.:dizzy:
It was fun though.:D

I meant along the line of able to buy a gun but can't shoot it or, simply the ability to buy anything that could never be used.:dizzy: Just weird.
