When you purchase an oem cd with micorsoft software, are there any issues you need to be aware of. Ie, will it install without any issues, does something need to be done or changed on your pc to get it to install

One of the biggest problems with oem win98 and other oem operating systems cds is alot of time they are for specific computers. In other words, they may not have all the drivers a retail cd may have. Also it may not work for all computers. You never really know until you get one and try it.

I've had no problems with mine; installs without a hitch. I do a clean re-install about every three years to keep things stable and that is what I suggest for you. Use a Win98 boot disk, select CDrom support, format your drive and then install the OS. You will lose all data doing a re-format so save any files you need to keep beforehand. Just be sure to go to MS website and get all the updates afterwards if you want to take care of security issues. More experienced users might have more suggestions.
