Painful situation here. My outlook started becoming very slow opening e-mails so I unistalled it, but everytime I reinstalled it, I was having the same issues. After mulitple attempts all of a sudden I couldn't start Windows 98 anymore. At the login screen, I was getting pop up windows that told me I was missing DLL's and needed to reinstall windows. I did that a few times, each time getting an error that said:
SHELL32.DLL file is linked to missing export SHLWAPI.DLL:SHRegGetUSValueA

All I can do now is continue trying to re-install Windows 98 or boot in DOS mode. I have no Windows access anymore. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
The New Guy

One other point. When I try theWindows reinstallation I am able to get through it until the PC reboots and starts building the drive list. That's when Before I get all these 'must reinstall windows' , 'shell errors', etc, the first error message that pops up is "Unicode wrapper not found:unicows.dll", then "Error loading Explorer.exe. You must reinstall Windows.", then when I click that 'ok' I get the shell error mentioned above, then clicking that ok gives me the message "Kernel32 has caused an error in KRNL386.EXE. Kernel32 will no close. If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer." I've tried to reinstall and reboot many times now. UHG!
