Desktop doesn't come up

The computer starts and I get a logon box, I logon and click and the desktop screen does not come up. Just the blue screen. Everything was OK yesterday. Any ideas? TIA

Is the Windows Me startup disk mentioned in that writeup the same as my Dell Windows Me reinstallation disk?

Not too sure about those restore disks.

You can try creating a start up disk from the link below:

Any error message(s) to go along with the blue screen?

Might also be bad RAM.

Try testing you ram using the following test below:
