help please

I have a project to do. I am tring to figure out how I can video record a graduation and it be live on a computer for a student who is injured and will not be able to make it to graduation. I thought if I can use a web cam that will have a live view of graduation and he had access to a computer in the hospital then he can watch a live coverage of it. How can I do this if it can be done? I do watch live games from the ncaa tournament fron cbs website so i know it can be done just not sure how to do it.

You will need a web cam to rechord.
A laptop to connect it to.
Wifi connection to get on the internet.
A server to host you video.
And give him the address to access it

VideoLAN (http://www.videolan.org/) can take care of the software side (streaming the video, and also receiving it).
