Why Does Flash Not Validate?
Okay, with the help of Degs I solved my flash problem of yesterday. But I have a secondary question:
I have become a bit of a 'validation freak' - even with a few hundred pages on my site about 95% are now validated (mostly xhtml trans., but some pages under html 4.00 or 4.01) but I have noticed that when I try to validate any page with flash, the page will not validate and it is various things within the flash coding which are the problem. Now I realise that 100% validation for a huge site is never going to be possible, but I am shocked that even xhtml rejects flash codings. This is where I go for validation: http://validator.w3.org/ Admittedly the system is not perfect (and they do not claim it) but this system always rejects flash. I would love to know if anybody has any ideas. campo. |

Thanks degs. Two evenings running I am indebted to you. For anybody else interested, the old unwieldy code for flash can now be jettisoned and here is the xhtml standard:
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="welcomecurl.swf" width="468" height="60"><param name="movie" value="welcomecurl.swf" /> <img src="banner.gif" width="468" height="60" alt="banner" /></object> Thanks again! |
