Wireless Antennas

I had previously asked for help as two of my computers ,the newer ones were running slower than the other older ones and they all had the same wireless cards Linksys.WEll i noticed that the two that were running slow had a different length antenna seven and a half inches and the two that had the faster connection had 6 inch antennas. I assumed that the bigger antenna would be a better connection,not so in this case as i have swopped them round and as far as i can see the problem is solved.
