Ah, but don't worry it will fix all your PC problems, including security when it does comes out. ;)

Another Vista delay? Shock!
At least by the time it does come out, it will have all the proper features integrated (eg. WinFS and EFI), instead of having eleventy different Vista versions floating about. The other advantage is, by then everyone's PC can probably run Vista.

Funnily enough, we had a discussion about this about a year ago. Everyone laughed when I said we wouldnt see it till 2007.

actually the delay is a scam by microsoft. They know alot of computers will be sold during the xmas season. Those computers will have xp on it. Microsoft knows theres alot of people out there who will always upgrade to the latest so they plan to release vista after pc sales slow again.

I hope that isn't true, but it may be. :( Still, computer sales will be much lower than they would if Vista was out at that time.

That they exist, or that they're going to eventually be included with Vista? Yes, and yes.

I know what they are and what they are about, but I was wondering if they were going to ship with Vista during the first release.

Lawks a mercy ! Microsoft shipping a product thats not fit for purpose! Whatever next?
There is one little thing we seem to be missing in the conversation here, the simple fact that a major rewrite will not become stable for a LONG time. To introduce even minor changes to code this late in the development cycle can introduce unknown and potentialy catastrophic conflicts.
sounds like this is almost a "start from scratch" exercise that is doomed to follow all previous MS lifecycles.

Originally, they were going to ship with it. Then, things got delayed and schedules changed, they were going to release Vista without those and several other features (offering them later via download, integrating into newer retail versions, etc). Now, the core Vista has been delayed for so long, by the time it DOES hit retail, it may have been a long enough wait for them to include those features already.
