Okay now as founding member of the campaign to introduce *Resolved* in thread titles, l have been doing so when a question gets answered. However even though in thread view it appears it doesn't show in forum view.

This is either my browser (IE hence it sucks) or Mishy has not turned something on or there's a slight bug in this version of the software.

Could whoever does the technical stuff have a look at this.

Cheers J.

As far as I know...it's not a bug....

Changing the topic title in forum view can only be done by admins and mods. This is by design for this board software. I know of one other forum that does the "resolved" thing and it involves staff actions as well, with member input. Such as the member sending an email or PM to a mod that they could go ahead and re-lable their thread. At this point it would be a MishY decision as to whether we would implement such a procedure.

Jethro, you or any member can edit the subject of your post, but not the subject (title) of the thread.

So in the one you tried it on, the *resolved* message appears on the very first post on the page so it still make a bit of a difference.

It won't stop the problem of needing to open the thread to see if it's resolved or not (won't show in the thread list on the forum page) but it still can:
a) save a lot of reading for the helpers
b) provide an instant indication to others with the problem that the thread may be worth reading if their problem is similar.

As stated no problems dude. Still think it's kind of weird, but no doubt there's a reasonable explanation for it.

No bug - that's by my design :)

I too am a fan of somehow making posts be indicatable as resolved or not however only the member who posted the question could post that. Many do not I'm afraid even say thankyou let alone let us know whether the suggested resolution solves their problem.

Cool, the campaign goes ahead. Post up in your titles *resolved* so we know there's an answer. Rocks for me... and could a few of you leave questions for me to answer:wave:
