Hi JD. Here is a link that has free SureThing software. I've used it and it's simple to use and works very well. Be sure to save a copy to a disk for future reinstallations in case of a computer crash.
The weblink is: http://www.lightscribe.com/support/index.aspx
click Downloads and then about midway down the page you'll see the button to save the free software from SureThing.
Good luck...hope this helps.

I have a computer that is about 2 1/2 months old and has Lightscribe capabilities. I was just wondering if there is any free software out there so I can use this option on my PC. I have found a few with free trials, but just wanted to know if there were any other options available to me?:erm:

Not always...in the case that one purchases an external dvd re-writer with lightscribe capabilities, software is not provided. If you purchase a computer with lightscribe burner, then you generally get the software in the bundle-pack.

where does it say there was a purchase of an external drive? It says a new computer with lightscribe capabilities! And that is what my answer was based on. Not on some imaginary "what if" as you stated.
