My laptop connects to the wireless internet from my router (linksys. 802.11b. 2.4GHz). But then when i want to do somethin online it is way way to slow. internet pages dont even load up. they load up every now and then. my msn messenger also keeps signin in and out. but then when i jus by-pass the router and connect the cable directly into my laptop (Dell inspiron) it works fine.
ANY HELP
IDEAS?

Sounds like the wireless signal is dropping. How far away is the router from the wireless pc? Try pinging the router over 5 mins and check for loss of connection. Click on start, then run. type cmd and click OK. Then type "ping 192.168.1.1 -t" without the "". Let that run for a little while and keep an eye out for "request timed out" You can press ctrl and C to cancel it and it brings up a summary.
