I tried to install a new laser printer and I forgot and left the printer cable attached to the computer when I installed printer drivers. When I did this I could not install new drivers from the CD-Rom for the printer because half way through I got the following message: Printer Driver Failed.

I have tried going to the add and remove software in the contol panel and un-install the brother printer but it wouldn't let me. I tried turning off the computer and doing it all over again with the cables off and that didn't work, either. I even tried doing a system restore to an earlier date and that didn't work either.

I don't know what to do next.
Please advise

With the printer disconnected, try going to the device manager and removing the printer.
Now try removing the software.
Should be able to do a clean install now after rebooting.

I right clicked on my computer and then clicked on properties and clicked on device manger but I could not find a printer to remove. I am not for sure I know where to look for the printer under device manger.

In Control Panel>Printers (if XP category view, it'll be Printers and Other Hardware>Printer and Faxes), right click the printer, left click Delete, OK the confirmation message. If there is more than one instance of the printer, delete them all.

Then try reinstalling.
