Hi JDav

This happens if the Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins setting is disabled for the My Computer Zone. Follow these steps to disable the restriction within the registry. Please note that some third-party security program on your system enabled this restriction as a measure to protect the system from attacks. So if you wish to continue, follow these instuctions.

NOTE ::::Always back up your registry before making any changes. The easiest way to do this is to select the entry that you are going to delete or modify (in this case, the ones below) with your mouse and go to File and choose Export. Call it any name that you like (selected branch should be pre-selected) and then send it to a New Folder on your Desktop as a reg file. If you have no further problems, rightclick on the New Folder and delete it. Do NOT doubleclick on a .reg file unless you want to put it back in your Registry

Click Start, Run and type REGEDIT

Navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Internet Settings \ Zones \ 0

In the right-pane, double-click the value 1200 and set it's value to 0

1200 corresponds to Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins setting

Repeat the same in this registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Internet Settings \ Zones \ 0

Close Registry Editor and restart Windows. The restrictions message should no longer be displayed.

Hmm.. well I did what you said, but it the restriction message still comes up.

When I went to rename the value to '0', it was already set at '0'.

Check the default settings for the Microsoft Internet Explorer:

From the Internet Explorer Tools menu, choose Internet Options.

Click the Security tab. At the top of the Security tab, you will see several icons for Web content zones. The settings only need to be changed for the Internet and Local intranet zones.

To restore the default Internet zone settings, click the Internet icon at the top of the window, and then click the Default Level button. Medium security is selected and a description of that security level is displayed.

To restore the default Local intranet zone settings, click the Local intranet icon at the top of the Internet Options window, and then click the Default Level button. Medium-low security is selected and a description of that security level is displayed.
Click OK.
