So, by downloading this utility and adding the values of the results, the connection speed is improved? Do you know if it is easy to use? because all this looks Ancient Greek to me (look at my location )

Your ISP may have a disclaimer, or a little asterik next to the 7MBPS*..

*Not all customers will surf at full speed.. .blah blah.

I have 56K Dialup but I only go at 5Kbps. Try that and you'll be very satisfied with 3MBps.

yer they sometimes come with a share ratio like 50:1 or 1:50 or even 1:200 /200:1 i forget which way round and what they exactly mean but basicallyyou share your connection, so im ment to have 2mbps but when its peak times i only get about 1.3

I garuntee that there is an ASTRIK there. I work for a High Speed Internet company. In some of our areas we are offering 15mbps down/5mbps up. Our catch is that we only garuntee that you will recieve .01mpbs to 15mpbs. So, I'd contact your ISP and ask them if they are having any issues in your area, also ask if the signal coming into your house is having any issues.

Finally!!!

Success
this is what it gave me:

1. Your Tweakable Settings:
Receive Window (RWIN): 17520
Window Scaling: off
Path MTU Discovery: ON
RFC1323 Window Scaling: OFF
RFC1323 Time Stamping: OFF
Selective Acks: ON
MSS requested: 1460
TTL: unknown
TTL remaining: 114
TOS/TOS subfield: 0
TOS/Flags:

2. Test 1024001 byte download
Actual data bytes sent: 1053201
Actual data packets: 723
Max packet sent (MTU): 1500
Max packet recd (MTU): 1500
Retransmitted data packets: 21
sacks you sent: 1
pushed data pkts: 164
data transmit time: 46.339 secs
our max idletime: 1669.7 ms
transfer rate: 21515 bytes/sec
transfer rate: 172 kbits/sec
This is not a speed test!
transfer efficiency: 97%

3. ICMP (ping) check
Target unpingable

Notes and recommendations:
Choose RWIN between 5840 and 10220 (FAQ #586)
download/use DRTCP .. (FAQ #578)
Read the tweak FAQ

Notes and recommendations:
Good data stream (no/few rexmits)
1 second+ stall detected

So what do you thing i should do?
(note: i use a download manager as well)

The transfer eficiency is a little bad i guess, the first time i took that test it was 100%. It gives me a read timeout again every time i try it to get the 100%.
I downloaded the DRTCP021.zip (i think, can't find it right now but i have the download page bookmarked to download it again, in case something went wrong)

Thank you in advance!

I just remembered it after all that time, and tried it out again!

I did the test, downloaded the DRTCP and just find it great!

It's the first day and up untill now it looks like there is a really nice improvement.
Not a major one but quite a good one!

Note: i uninstalled the download manager a long time ago.
