Problem hosting games.
hi, recently i got a new motherboard, (an asus a8n-e) and for some reason i can't seem to host games anymore.
i used to have a gigabyte k8n-f and that allowed me to host games (for some reason) well it might have nothing to do with motherboards but thats the only thing thats changed recently. i have the nvidia firewall turned off, also the windows one. i have a 512/128 DSL line, on a netcomm1300 modem. nothing has changed except for the motherboards, any help? |

Did you do a repair install of Windows when you changed motherboard? Did you install the new motherboard's chipset drivers (which will include the network adapter drivers)?

Got any firewalls? First try adding exceptions for the games (or the ports they use), but if that doesn't work try disabling them.

Do you have any other network/internet related symptoms? Eg. slow browsing, unable to use software updates, etc?

What games have you tried hosting? What makes you think they can't host (error messages, no one joining)?

im trying to do warcraft 3. it just greys out and then says you can't join it, as if the port isn't forwarded.
recently i tried running azureus (i hadn't downloaded torrents since i got the new motherboard) and it says my ports aren't forwarded, even though they are. so i think i might have a problem there, i use an nb1300 and i tried forwarding the ports through there, but azureus doesn't seem to think they are forwarded. any tips? |

Try forwarding the ports again (ensure your PC is given a static IP, and that you forward the ports to the right address). I believe the motherboard change has invalidated any previous port forwards/static IP assignments you had (which are assigned to a specific MAC address), which you have yet to update.
