.NET Framework 1.1 problem

Ok heres the deal I have ran in to a problem with .NET Framwork 1.1. I went to a site to learn how to let my Xbox 360 stream music from my computer. I was using the page at http://forums.xbox.com/1076872/ShowPost.aspx.

It told me to use Add or remove programs and delete .NET Framework 1.1, then to go to the microsoft site and download a program called dotnetfx to reinstall it, when I tryed to reinstall it said "Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 setup has ended prematurely." It told me to contact product support... thats not the first time thats not worked.

If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.
