Wireless Network

Hi,
Trying to setup a wireless network with motorola access point & d-link pci dwl-g510.

Can someone tell me if i can plug the access point straight into my router (router isn't wireless). I have put a 2nd network card (connected to the access point) into the pc but still can't get it to connect to computer in the other room, I have tried using the windows network setup.

Can any help?

not sure if i understand this correctly but both of your pc's are connected and both can access the internet? Is one wireless and one connected directly to the router? Or both connected wireless?

If both are connected up ok and you can access the internet then run network wizard on both pc's (Are they both XP?). The next step would be to see if you can see the other pc in "view workgroup computers" in "my network places". If not it may be a prob with a firewall on 1 or both of the pc's

i have 3 pcs on the network, 2 with normal cables, 1 with wireless pci card. all running Xp.

I go the wireless pc to work, browse network and internet but for some reason it drops out after 5-10 minutes, i dont data encryption enabled.
Do you know why it would drop out after 5-10 mins?

No but if it does this at work and at home then its more than likely a problem with the network adapter or the drivers for it. Have you tried installing the latest drivers for your network adapter?
