I have verizon dsl, and windows XP and I recently bought a dynex 4 port cable/ dsl router (DX-E401), so that i could use my comp and playstation2. Well i followed all the directions for installing it and i tested it all out and everything worked fine and so did my playstation. but about a couple of hours later when i went back on my computer to use the internet it wouldn't work anymore. It said it was connected but when i tryed using my browers (firefox, IE) it just came up with page couldn't be displayed, and i couldn't conect to my ps2 either. so i tryed uninstalling it and installed it again,i tryed changing the MTU, cause i was told that my fix the problem and that didn't work either.
SO now i have no idea what to do,
PLEASE HELP

Welcome to CTH,
Is the router set with DHCP (Does it give IP address out automaticaly)? Or did you have to put one into your pc? Did you change anything since it was working? And what exactly did you try uninstalling and reinstalling?
First step I would take is to find out if your pc is getting an ip address from the router. Click on start, then click run. Type cmd. Type ipconfig. and post the results.

That seems ok so far. Has the router currently got the default settings? Have you got any firewalls running on the pc? Try disabling them for a moment to see if you can access the internet. If that still dont work it could be a prob with your dsl. Does the router have your username and password for your isp or do you dial up using the pc?

ok i tryed disabling my firewall and anti virus software and still nothing. I don't have a username and pass with my dsl, its a static ip

if the prob is with my dsl connect, why would it have worked perfect for an hour or however long i was on when i first hooked it up?

When it cuts out can you access your router? If so check its IP address.
