Well, I hope somebody can help me with this one. We just got a new Dell laptop that came with a Dell wireless 1390 802.11g Mini Card (54Mbps). I had my desktop hooked up to internet via comcast motorola cable modem, so I went out and got wireless router to have the laptop be connected as well. I got a d-link DI-634M router and hooked up everything to the desktop, to cable modem. Everything was working nicely. I believe I got the network set up correctly and am using a trail version of Network Magic that came with d-link router. The laptop had a good connection and everything. Then I went into the router to put in a wep key code. The desktop still had good connection, but when I tried to re-connect the laptop to the network I put the key code in correctly but on the connection it said limited/no connectivity. So I reset everything to without wep key code and tried a wpa passphrase. Again same thing happened. I thought maybe it was the Mcfee firewall in the laptop preventing the connection since the router has a firewall as well. I disabled the firewall and still nothing. Now I am not sure what to try and am getting frustrated with the situation. If anybody can help it would be greatly appreciated.

try manually setting your IP and such, see if that helps..

im not sure how else I can suggest..

you say without the key it works, but with the key only the desktop works.. it sounds more like the wifi card has a specific security type to use..
some allow only WPA, where others are only WEP etc..

but on the connection it said limited/no connectivity. Can you access the internet still or do you loose connectivity?

So, if you disable WEP & WPA it all still works, correct?

With WEP or WPA enabled and configured, run ipconfig/all and post the output back here. I'm guessing your not getting a good IP address from the router...
