Hello,

I'm trying to build a wireless network. I have installed the mentioned SMC (usb) software and according to:
- the manual of the SMC the application is running adequately since the 'green light' is on (meaning: working AND connection to the internet)
- the control panel, the SMC is also working adequately

However: in the 'networking-panel' in XP, the connection is 'lost' (in Netherlands: verbroken) and I cannot connect to the internet.

I have used a cable directly from the wireless lan to my computer and then I have (also now) a normal connection.

Finally: I have double checked my USB installed in my computer and it is (required) a 2.0 so that is not the issue.:hmm: :hmm:

Does anybode know what the problem is / might be / how I can resolve it?

Hi, I have a few questions and hopefully they lead us to finding the cause of your problem.

What are you using for a wireless router? Have you made sure that the wireless feature is enabled on the router? Do you have broadcast SSID enabled on the router and if so then can you see it in the wireless configuration tool?

You said you installed the SMC software, does it come with its own wireless configuration software? If it does then you want to disable XP's zero config tool.
