Connectivity Issues (Tough One)

First of here is my system:

Hewitt Packard Pavilion
-Windows XP
-Intel Pentium 4 3.2GHz
-1024 MB RAM
-Radeon X800 XT AGP 256MB
w/ All-In-Wonder
-Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS
-Linksys WRT54G
-USB Network Adapter
-WUSB54G
-3 CP's(desktops), 1 hardline to router, 2 desktops wireless usb adapter ( range expander half way)
DSL internet connection

The problem is that I am trying to play an EA game LOTR Battle for Middle Earth 2. My brother an I have been playing games on our computers for awhile online never had problems till this game. Our computers are identical (the systems both having the hardware above except he has a Nvidia GEforce FX 5700 which is not as good as mine). The problem is that this game has some kind of syncing in the lobby before online multiplayer games begin, which I have never really experienced, and it seems that he connects to everyone very easily and shows no sign of latency where as I cannot connect to many ppl and I can show 40ms but latetly 250's. This is if he is just online, I'm just online, or both of us always the same. I do not beleive any programs or software on the computers are different. No spyware I check with Microsoft Anti spyware and Adaware SE on both all the time. Both PC's are port forwarded for the game and more, Both receive very good signal strength and 54mbs and I even tried updating the USB adapter driver and connecting a hardline to the router from the pc and no change. Tried to play with the MTU packet window alittle, made both PC's static IP's, limited some unessary processes start ups in system configuration utility, unistalled and reinstalled network drivers, I did not try reinstalling the game because I'm not sure that will make a difference but I don't know. I'll post anymore info that will help anyone help me. EA and Linksys people are not being very useful. I need help here it's killing me that our computers are the same and he can do something I cannot. Any help is very much appreciated.

Could be a firewall issue. What firewall are you running. Are yours and your bro's pc's connected to the same router?

Yea. We're on the same router which I disabled the windows firewalls and the ones in the router. Not sure there are any others ones all I could think of is that Norton Anti-Virus auto-protect is on and I can't find that it has a firewall anywhere in it.. besides my brother runs the same thing and he has no problem.

Cant you just swap the pc's around when he is sleeping?

On a serious note.... How have you port forwarded? Hopefuly a more technical person will correct me if im wrong but the destination ip would have to be yours or your bros ip address.

Yes. I have separate port forwarded lines for each PC.

Gaming on a wireless system, eh? Not my choice, but moving on. If port forwarding doesn't work, you could always try port triggering if your router supports. It works the same as forwarding, but doesn't require a specific IP, which makes it a bit easier for you.

Well a DSL connection can only send 3.5 mb per second and a wireless network is capable of 54mbps, but I have tried hard lined and its no different. Port triggering opens a port to receive information only when it is sent but I guess I could try it along with my port forwarding but I don't think ports is the problem here though I appreciate people thinking with me!
