Post Your Pets

Shaved Monkey gave me an idea for this thread. If you are like me, your pets are a big part of your life. I love mine. If you have a photo of your furry friends, we would all like to see them. And maybe some info on them as well. Here are my furballs (cats):
http://members.home.net/maxximilian/graphics/cats3.jpg

Neither are pure breeds (less than one percent of the world's domestic cats are pedigreed). The gray one is 16 years old and female. Her name is Guinevere (Guen). The honey-colored one is a 2 year-old male and is named, what else....Maxx. He absolutely loves her and she absolutely hates him. It wasn't easy to get them to stay together for the pic.

VERY IMPORTANT....If your photo is 8 KB or below, you can direct-link the pic into this thread. If it is over 8 KB please use a link instead. If the thread becomes slow-loading, I will have to go through and change all the pics into links. Thanks.

If you have a pic, but no hosting service, just ask and perhaps someone will host them for you.

I have 2 little dogs...They are both purebread (read: imbread) Shetland Sheepdogs (AKA Sheltie)
commonly refferred to as 'miniature lassies' (AKA mini-lassie)

they are supposedly one of the smartest dogs on the planet...
the one on the right is Sasha, she is well trained...
the one on the left is Cassie, she is a jealous attention grabbing copy cat (err, dog)

got them both a short while after they were born...Sasha is 5, Cassie is 3

here are my Pets

If anyone wants me to host there pictures on my webspace I am willing to help in anyway I can...just email me and let me know....sorry the picture is so fuzzy....combination of very cheap digital camera rca cds 1005 and 2 dogs that don't like to have pictures taken....both are rescues....Lucy (part beagle part rottweiler) and yes I know that is a very weird combination... we rescued her from the vanderburgh county humane society in Evansville Indiana in December of 1999 and Chloe (not sure what this dog is) if you have any clues let me know....we rescued her from my wifes brother who was going to dispose of her in an unmentionable way.... and everytime we went to his house this dog would sit beside me on the couch and just wait for me to pet her so when they called and said either we are bringing the dog to you or else...how could I say no.....very intelligent dog too.....cant say that for the beagle/rott....but anyway Chloe can always be found by my feet under my desk as I am either searching for help or giving help on Vdr....and now I hope to be able to do the same here....once I get past the Open Discussion area.....I am having a blast reading the posts here.....

They should really put a warning on these pets. You're not buying a pet, you're buying a small tragedy! You know why? Because all pets die badly. They never die of old age. No they gotta go off and commit suicide by jumping into a cement mixer, or picking a fight with the grill of a 1970 Dodge Ram!

Now just wait a minute Theo! I had a sheperd mix that I got from SPCA in DC in 80 or 81. Actualy, he got me. At that time he was either a year or two old, even the vet wasn't really sure. He was dumb as a brick. Survived jumping out of two story buildings, and lived. And he lived until 94. At a ripe old age of about 16 or 17. Old for a sheperd.

I hope eveeryone knew I was joking around. I love animals. I was just doing a George Carlin bit. I'm like max. I'm a cat person, but I also like dogs. My last dog was called "Doozer" after the little construction workers on the kids show "Fragil Rock". This was one tough little dog. Doozer had an artificial hip, been hit by cars seven times, and couldn't run straight. He ran side ways. I kid you not. Man I miss him!

I use to call him "PapaDooze"

We are not allowed to have dogs or cats in our apartment.....
But during my childhood and youth I've had 2 dogs (pekineses), 2 rabbits (small ones), 1 parrot, 2 budgerigars, and 4 canaries....

The only "pet" we have right now is our now 17 months old son, Marcus....
If you want, you can see some photos of him HERE - they're not up-to-date, but I haven't had time to take care of our photos lately.....

Kind regards,
Lotte G., Denmark

Well I used to have two Jack Russell Terriers, but had to put one down three months ago. He was a great guy and was with me sense a pup {1989 ?}. The poor fellow just couldn't take care of himself anymore. For the last year between the vet and myself, we kept him going but it was time for the guy.
Here is a pic of my other JRT Brig.

Now my cat Smokey .
She is the last of {sheesh ... lost count} maybe 12 cats that [out of the blue] popped up on my street some odd 15 years ago. All of them had a home with some neighbor or another.
Many had more than one home even. Only one died under ten years of age (by a stray dog).
Would ya believe Smokey is 12 years old!
