sound help

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to post this in or not, but here goes. I cannot get my computer to play any system sounds. It will not play any sounds from web pages. I even tried using other browsers and it still wont play any sounds. However, It will play mp3 or wav files just fine as long ast its played on an external program like winamp or windows media player. But that is the only time I can get sounds out of my computer, is when using one of those programs. Anyone have any advice??

If you're running XP, Click Here to open a Kelly's Korner page. Scroll to line 6 and in the left-hand column click on "Restore System Default Sounds" to download a small reg file. (You may have to right click on it, left click "Save Target As)

Once it's downloaded, run it according to the directions at the top of the Kelly's Korner page.
