No pictures

HELP
I am having trouble with "some" emails and "some" internet sites. The pictures don't appear on my screen. Just a square block with a red x in the corner. What program or file do I have missing from my computer that should enable me to see those photos.

not nessarly a missing file problem.




If your using firefox the problem could be
Under tools->options->content
make sure the checkbox for load images is checked

If ie
tools->internet options-> advance -> Multimedia->
make sure show image is checked

if that doesn't solve the tell me what browser your using, if firewall, and os...

Try deleting your temp internet files.. see if that helps. ;)

I have deleted my temp files and also checked show image on ie internet options. Still no pictures on some sites and some emails I'm using ie with no firewalls. Any other suggestions???

Have you recently installed any service packs?

I've only had this problem for about three months. Had this computer with windows XP Pro and same internet server for 2 years. I can't recall adding any service packs. I have been visiting a site with jpg. photos of paintings. A couple of months ago I could get all of the photos on the site. Now I can only get some of them. Same situation with emails that have pictures in them. Some are ok others nothing but a outline with a little red x in the corner???????

gives a 404 Http error meaning they do not exist... the website in question doesn't have the images up for those pictures is the problem
