Infuriating!...... printing with tagged inks

Hope is a fair subject for this forum.

Have an epsom printer which has two cartridges, one BW and one CLR. When the colour runs out of any of the colour grades in the CLR cartridge, the whole thing stops still and it wont even let me print in BW. Infuriating.

Any way of telling the little tagg thing on the cartridge that it should continue to be my 'tool of work' and not make me beholdant to offering more pennies for a new CLR cartridge when it is full of perfectly usefull BW ink...... and I have a deadline!

I probably should have many in hand for just such an occassion, but I'm a poor student.

Any way to get it to do this BW print?.... anyhow???.... before I offer it out to my 3rd floor balcony to scientifically test if gravity is still 9.8m/s/s!

Its an epson stylus 870.
Yours rantingly

I'm not sure why it refuses to print. My epson would print, just with very bad colour.

In the print settings set your print to Black & White. That may make it happy.
