Better FPS

Ok here are the simple specs of my PC

Intel Celeron 2.4ghz processor (yeah i know)
1256mb of ram
DirectX 9c if that matters
Radeon X800 GTO 256mb AGP video card
Foxconn 650/6501M02 motherboard

I seem to be not getting good FPS in some of my games

For example, in World of Warcraft i get about 1-3 FPS in heavily populated areas with alot of players. And about 12 in empty places.
In Call of Duty 2, i get about 35-55 fps.
All my setting on each game and video card itself are on the lowest settings.

Please tell me what i need to upgrade as far as hardware goes. Im guessing my Motherboard and processor? Or any other solution? Thanks in advance.

The weakest link is the celeron.

Also what power supply do you have? Sometimes a cheap one which comes with the case wont do any favours for performance.

Have you tried updating the drivers for that card? I had some performace issues on an older card with WoW, and it came down to updating the driver.

1256mb of ram???

Seems an odd amount?
How is that made up?
2x512 + 1x256 = 1280
Is there a 24Mb on-board video chip - doubtful?

If it was supposed to say 256, then there's your problem (aside from the obvious Celery which you have already agreed is "I Know"...)

" in heavily populated areas with alot of players" = CPU & RAM issue not Video IME (in my experience).

350 watt is not that much, i run 500, but with what you have it should be fine, doubt that is the problem

What does WoW require? 2.4GHz sounds like enough to get more than 1-3 FPS in a crowd. What resolution are you playing the game on?

then I doubt its the CPU provided you dont have a dozen other things running when you play. What about the resolution.

Everyone lags on WoW mate. I get as low as 8FPS sometimes in IF or SW. But i can get as high as 60. Go on the WoW forums, they have some useful suggestions.
