Exclamation Needing help with Command and Conquer Generals!!

Every time I try playing the game it freezes and occassionally crashes, I've tried updating my display drivers, tried closing down all unnecessary running programs, I've tried reinstalling directx but it still does it, I've noticed I can leave it on the first menu for hours on end but as soon as I move my mouse to 'Soloplay' it freezes.
My driver is an ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 version 6.14.0010.6378, the temperatures my CPU was running at when playing the game it started off at 77 celsius then went down to 68celsius.
If anybody could help it would be greatly appreciated.

Have you patched the game to the latest version yet?

That CPU temp is too high. What program are you using to see those temps?
