Low Benchmarks, High Card. . .
When I benchmark on 3dmark 03 I get around 7200. . .which compared to my 6600 score, that's good. But as I look around at others with my same card. . .they are between 11000 and 13000. . .here are my basic specs, please let me know which is the bottleneck to my gfx card. . .
-ASUS K8N -AMD Sempron 2000+ 1.8ghz (According to nzone "Performance rated at 3.0 ghz". . . what does that mean?) -Evga Geforce 6800GS gpu (400/1100) -420w PSU -1280mb RAM pc2100 -GREAT Cooling (6 case fans) -200mb HD Please help, I'm thinking its the cpu but I'm not positive cause when I test my pc specs at nzone for games (like oblivion) it tells me that the cpu is performance rated at 3.0 ghz. . .I don't know what to do, the highest I can go on a cpu is 2.4ghz b4 getting a new MB. Thanks for any help |

Hi there,
Yeah, 7200 in 03 is good (my rig only managed 5725) but you would see an improvement with a better CPU and faster RAM i.e PC2700/DDR333. Also, with the comparison of 'puter's like yours, remember that these have all been overclocked to hell and back. These are serious individuals who like to max things out. EDIT: Upgrade from a Sempron (budget CPU) to an Athlon 64. |

Ya I plan on getting the Athlon 64 CPU from newegg socket 754 that runs at 2.4 and that should be better. Also, what does nzone.com mean when it says my CPU is performance rated at 3.0ghz?
