A mother was scheduled for her "annual visit" to her ob-gyn about 30 days away when she got a call from her ob-gyn's nurse about a cancellation.
"Could she be there at 9:30 that morning?" Calculating the time it took to get her daughter off to school, return and get thoroughly ready for the doctor visit, the mother said yes. However, a traffic jam at school left little time once she returned home. She entered the nearest bathroom, her daughter's, and used the wash cloth on the nearby sink. Knowing she normally took a shower, shaved legs, etc. she hoped the doctor wouldn't mind on such short notice. Arriving at the doctor's office, she didn't have to wait too long before being ushered into an exam room. As the doctor began to examine her he made the comment, "I can see you really went all out to prepare for this visit." Not knowing if the doctor was being sarcastic or polite, she mumbled that she had done her best with the time she had. Again, he said, "I can see that."
Later that day after school, her daughter asked what had become of the wash cloth in her bathroom. The mother said it was in the laundry room, that she had used it. The daughter exclaimed, "But Mom, I had it already prepped with my stars and sparkles for my face for my dance recital tonight. They were on my wash cloth."
