I'm not normally one asking for computer help but I need it this time!!

My work was throwing out an old computer so I said I'd take it home. I'm planning on replace the memory etc with other computers because it aint that great.

It runs on NT and the only problem I'm having with it is because it was my works, it is password protected with different profiles. I can't get this password. On my own home computer if you press cancel you bypass the password and go to the default desktop. Thats not what happens with this. Is there anything I can do to get the password off without entering it?

Just so you know I'm not breaking into someones computer!! It's more than likely that if I get past the password it won't let me access much anyway. I only want to get in to format the hard drive to start over.

Any help appreciated lads.

you should be able to get the admin password from work - once you do that, you should be able to delete the other profiles.

Welcome :)

You don't need to access the OS to format it.
Purchase your chosen OS and then use the formatting provided in the setup or use a third-party utility to partition and format.

I agree, find a boot disk for like WIN98SE ( I think that has fdisk on it) and boot to the disk, then use fdisk to format and repartition the HDD.
