In Device Manager, expand the entries under CDROM by clicking on the + sign, then right-click on the reference to your CDROM drive, select Properties then Settings tab. Click in the box beside "Auto insert notification" to place a checkmark there, then click on OK and OK again.
The CD that you are inserting has to be autorun capable, as well. |

The auto insert notification box is checked. In fact all the 3 boxes are checked. The CD is self-launch. Yet it does not launch - auto run.

Okay. Try this and see if it works.
Open the Registry Editor and navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Microsoft>Windows>Curre ntVersion>Policies>Explorer Look for the NoDriveTypeAutoRun key in the right pane, and modify the value to 0000 95 00 00 00 After you make this change, quit Registry Editor and restart your computer. |
