I just need a little help with my new system

Guys I have put together what I feel is my greatest Gamming rig I have ever had. But my performance sucks. My system specs are:
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3500+
You Have: Corsair 2GB XMS3200 (400MHZ BUS) CONSISTS OF (2) MATCHED CMX1
mobo : ASUS A8N-SLI
running dual: XFX PVT42EUDE3 Geforce 6800 XTreme 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16
Windows XP Home sp2
running a Hyundai imagequest LCD 19"

I dont know what eles you need to know. I only get about 80 FPS in Americas Army and I tend to have a lot of video lag. Also my system takes for ever to boot up and sometimes when it boots up it gives me a video error " this video mode is not supported " I have tried using different video cards from the ati x800 to what I have now. I just dont feel that Im getting the performance I should be getting. Any help would be greatly appreciated

yes everything that I could get me hands on. The only thing that I did have trouble with is when I tried to install the nivida chip set stuff from the mobo disk it would cause my system to lock up on reboot. And with out that it says not to update the BIOS.
