Stop Error c000026c

I desperately need help. My son's computer just stopped working. This is the error I am getting.
c000026c \systemroot\system32\drivers\e100bnt5.sys
I have tried booting in safemode, won't work. Keeps taking me back to that darn blue screen.
Any suggestions?:raphael:
I am running Windows 2000 Professional on a VERY OLD computer but never had any problems until now.

That's the Ethernet driver for Intel PRO/100 Mini PCI adapter normally found on IBM Thinkpads'.. Suggest you remove it and try booting and see what happens..
