Win98 Sound Driver

I have re-installed Win98 on an old Compaq DeskPro 590. For some reason it isn't loading the sound drivers. I had installed Win98 on this same computer in the past and never had this problem. I've tried installing Win98 on other PC's and get the same problem. When I check to see if my sound drivers are loaded it say's there's a problem with the PnP Sound Chip. Could anyone put me in the right direction as to what to do next. Thanks for the help in advance.

First, try booting into Safe Mode, then go to Device Manager and remove the reference to your sound card. Restart again in Normal mode and see if Windows picks up on it this time.

If still no joy, try d/loading and installing the most recent drivers for it.
