I am the sole user of my computer. How do I remove the Logoff option at shutdown? At shutdown I would like two choices:

Restart and Shutdown

I would like Win2k to operate in the same manner as Win98SE if possible. Thanks.

Goto Start>Run> and type Regedit

Navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer

In the Right-Hand Pane right-click and choose New then DWord Value
Type NoLogoff
Double Click the new entry and set it to 1

Worked like a charm. Thanks for the tip.

Hi. Does this regedit apply to my situation? I am trying to get a software shutdown instead of manually throwing the switch on my win2k computer (since it's virtually inaccessible at the back of my workstation). I'm currently getting the "It is now safe to turn off your computer" message which is really annoying as the machine keeps running. If so, can I assume I can get a front pushbutton start?

Never mind. Found that I could get it done through power management even though it is a standard pc rather than acpi compliant. I just checked the "enable apm" box and voila.
