Not sure if these is the corect area to post this.
How do you protect your computer from people who are trying to get your administrator password .
I work for a large school district and have had one of our admin passwords compromized.
there is a very simple site on the internet (I will spare you all and not post it).
Which will simple give you the local admin password as fast as ten minures.
The computers we are running on campus are Compaq Evo En 933.
The bios does not have the feature to allow only the C drive to boot and block all others.
The above mentioned site can use floppy cd or usb to boot from and get the admin password.
This is VERY fustrating and time consuming.
How can you protect your hardware and network when your admin password is unsafe.
I hope someone has a soulution , even if ther is some sort of third party software that allows you to lock down the bios.
as a final not yes we had all the bios password protected and were using a complex password with upper case lower case numbers and letters and special characters for our password.

Thanks in advance, drkoontz

I would be surprised if the BIOS does not have boot options to disable booting from CD, USB or Floppy.

Have you checked for BIOS updates?

You could also try something like this

I'm running the most current Bios update.
The bios does not have a way choose only boot from C drive.
This bios only allows you to choose boot order.

Thanks
