Greetings, Can someone point me to directions for Irfanview slideshows on a disk? I've tried burning 3 and none have worked. I created a root folder. Moved in the Irfanview folder. Move in the image folder, the text file plus the autorun file. Then I burned a cd with the root folder. The IrfanView help just doesn't cut it in this case. I'd appreciate any advice available. Thanks, Momo

Thanks very much for the response. The link was helpful but I have more questions. I will create a folder (called slideshow) that I will burn to a cd. In the 'slideshow' folder will be 2 subfolders: one for IrfanView and the other for Images. Also there will be 2 text files in the 'slideshow' folder called 'autorun' and slideshow'. In the autorun file I have typed: "[AutoRun] open=i_view32.exe/slideshow=\slideshow.txt"
And in the slideshow.txt I have a list (generated by Irfanview). What should the strings look like? Right now they are like this:
C:\slideshow\Images\31.jpg. But this doesnt seem right- should I be taking the c: out?
I really appreciate your help (and any help you could offer me at this point).
Best Wishes, Momo

looking at the link I gave above, you just need the filenames rather than the path in your .txt document

002 Reiseprospekt.TIF
003 Abreise.TIF

The instructions in IrfanView are some of the worst I have ever read. I have yet to be successful and I've wasted numerous CDs. If anyone can set me straight I'd appreciate it- my questions will be in CAPs.

Here is an example for a self starting slideshow:

1. Copy IrfanView into the root CD folder (you can also copy an INI file "
i_view32.ini" with your settings)
WHAT IS A ROOT CD FOLDER- DOES THIS MEAN COPY THE IRFANVIEW FOLDER OR DOES IT MEAN COPY THE CONTENTS OF THE IRFANVIEW FOLDER WITHOUT THE FOLDER? THERE IS NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHAT I_VIEW32.INI IS?

2. Copy your images into the CD folder called e.g. "images"
THIS FOLDER DOES NOT EXIST. DOES THIS MEAN CREATE A FOLDER AND CALL IT 'IMAGES'. AND WHERE IS THIS FOLDER SUPPOSED TO GO?

3. Create a TXT file (in slideshow dialog or using Notepad) with the names of images. If your image files have names like "image1.jpg", "image2.jpg" etc.
the TXT should look like this:

.\images\image1.jpg
.\images\image2.jpg
etc.

In each line is a file name with relative paths (relative to IrfanView).

Save the TXT file e.g. as "slideshow.txt" in the CD root folder.

4. Create the "autorun.inf" file (Notepad). Write in the file 2 lines:

[AutoRun]
open = i_view32.exe /slideshow=slideshow.txt
DOES THIS MEAN THAT THERE SHOULD BE A FOLDER CALLED SLIDESHOW SOMEWHERE?
Save "autorun.inf".

5. Done. Burn the CD.
I HOPE SOMEONE CAN HELP ME.

the root of the hard drive is c:\, so the root of the cd is the top level, without opening any folders
